As a self-confessed foodie, there is not a lot I don’t like. I’ll give tripe a miss – you’ll only convince me if it is flavoured with Asian spices. I used to love liver, but nowadays it’s not at the top of my list. Plants are what makes me tick. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but if I don’t have veg on my plate, then my meal is not complete.
I abide by an 80/20 rule on my plate. What’s that you say? After a quick search online, you will end up with another lecture on how to live your life and which products you should and shouldn’t eat to lose weight.
I am of the opinion that you should enjoy food and eat healthily. This gives you stability on every level. The 80/20 rule means that my diet is 80% plant-based and 20% animal protein. At home, we tend to eat vegetarian and vegan during the week and then over the weekends, we add meat, fish and cheese from trusted suppliers. When I eat out, I tend to mix and match. For me, it must be creative and delicious!
