Jamie Oliver and Ottolenghi’s Marrakech
When Jamie Oliver visited Marrakech many years ago in 2010, Marrakech became one of the hottest destinations for short breaks. Of course, the people in the know knew that Marrakech was one of the food meccas in the world. It’s not until one of my favourite chef’s Ottolenghi visited here, that this ancient medieval city came on my radar too. I had to visit this city polished by history and uncover the city which lies behind the high walls with the stunning backdrop of the Atlas mountains. Having watched both Jamie Oliver and Ottolenghi making their way through the myriads of streets, markets and enjoying the local street food, it shouldn’t be too difficult to retrace their food steps.
Did I find ‘their’ Marrakech? Actually, it is not that easy at all as they hire local experts to get under the skin of cities. I did too, and it was a fantastic experience. Keep an eye out on our blog.
